Character generation, character creation, or “rolling up a character”… How ever you say it, it all means the same thing. It is the process of making decisions and putting them on paper to develop the series of statistics, personality, and history that make up a student in AniDai Campus.
Creating a character in AniDai doesn’t have to be a long, involved process – as a matter of fact, I will lay out a table below that will generate a character for you, using a series of dice rolls, in a matter of minutes. However, such a character is rarely a balanced individual, and we all recommend you take the time to customize and craft a character you can like, since you will be controlling that character’s actions and reactions throughout his or her college life.
Below are two methods for character creation. Also included are some additional pieces of advice and recommendations for the GM. The GM should read this section and decide which method he or she prefers before turning it over to the players.
First piece of advice to players: specialization is a wonderful thing, but don’t take it too far! A character that’s nothing but a combat monster is going to have a really bored player when everyone else is repairing their damaged airplane in the air, or is trying to write that perfect virus!
First piece of advice to the GM: Get involved in the character generation! If there is something that will be particularly useful or useless in your planned campaign, let the player know you recommend or do not recommend it. Leave the final decision up to the player, of course, (unless you’ve ruled that something is not allowed, or that something is mandatory). After each character is done, look it over to approve it before it is played, just so that you have an idea what kinds of people will be involved.
